Reason for
Grade/Alloy Changes is Required
(released October
15, 1993)
For users who want to document the reason an inventory cost
or quantity change was made, Special Option #61 Reason
for Cost/Quantity Changes is Required has been developed.
To take advantage of this feature, you must perform the following
steps:
- Activate the Directory Editor program and set Special Option
#61 to YES.
- Activate the Code/Table Editor program, TEDIT main
menu option L. This editor now includes a function for creating
a table of valid reason codes and descriptions. Enter
the codes and descriptions that you want to use to indicate as
reasons for changing cost and quantity information.
After the above steps have been completed, whenever any cost
(actual, optimizing or standard) or quantity (available
or book) change is made to an inventory item, a window of
valid reasons will automatically be displayed. One of the reasons
must be selected or the information will not be changed.
With this feature activated, a reason code and description
will be included with each cost and quantity change in the Inventory
Change/Corrections File.
Additionally, for users who want to document the reason a grade/alloy
record was changed, Special Option #76 Reason for Grade/Alloy
Changes is Required has been developed. To take advantage
of this feature, you must perform the following steps:
- Activate the Directory Editor program and set Special Option
#76 to YES.
- Activate the Code/Table Editor program, TEDIT main
menu option L. As with Special Option #61 outlined above, select
R-eason to enter the codes and descriptions that
you want to use to indicate as reasons for changing grade/alloy
information.
After the above steps have been completed, whenever any change
is made to a grade/alloy, a window of valid reasons will automatically
be displayed. One of the reasons must be selected or the information
will not be changed.
With this feature activated, a reason code and description
will be included with each change in the Grade/Alloy Adjustments
File.
