MARS Average/Total Consumption Report

Keystone Systems has modified the MARS Average/Total Consumption Report to allow the user to exclude certain materials from the totals displayed on the detail report. The “totals by class” portion of the report are not reduced by the exclusions, they remain the same. If materials are excluded and a summary report is requested, two summary reports are prepared. The Summary Exclusion Report displays which materials were excluded.
The current MARS Average/Total Consumption Report shows all materials used for the time period selected (see the
following example for charge 304 for the period 09/14/01 through 09/14/01). We have modified the program to produce a second total line, excluding the revert materials weight. In the
following example, the new total line is shown as “Total 2”. The actual cost/lb. and standard cost/lb. values have been adjusted, as well as the weight percent value. In our example, the class “Slag” materials were excluded.
To implement this new feature, a “MARS average exclude file” must be created to define which items are to be excluded from the second total line. The layout of the file is as follows (a template file is available from Keystone
[MARAVG.TMP]. This file needs to be renamed and the exclusions entered):

The MARAVG.KSI file provides flexibility in excluding items. This feature applies to the average report as well as the total report. A maximum of 51 exclusions can be listed in the MARAVG.KSI file. If the MARAVG.KSI file does not exist, the program will be identical to the previous version.
