ABS Technical Bulletin #14

Master Directory Special Option #82

“MIX - Use Local Chemistry File”

(released May 15, 2001)

A Special Option (#82) has been added to the Master Directory to indicate if MIX should use a copy of the furnace chemistry file. This option was developed for clients that use the TAP program, and make charges in advance with a predicted heel chemistry and weight.

If this option is set to YES, MIX uses a local chemistry file for the Heel information, rather than reading/writing the master chemistry file. If the Heel chemistry shown is a copy, the word “LOCAL” is displayed next to the Furnace Id and highlighted in yellow, as shown below:

If the option to wait for a spectrometer update is on, it will be bypassed in this case, since any update will not affect the local copy. If the local chemistry file is changed, the changes are not logged in the Released Chemistry database.
